Going on the record as saying that I think Courtney Stodden is kind of fabulous and interesting and pretty funny. I like her.
“Entertaining” and “outlandish” aren’t the same things as “fabulous” and “interesting.” She’s definitely funny, in a sad way. Sad, because she doesn’t appear to be in on the joke, and that’s why “interesting” doesn’t apply. And “fabulous” why? Because she’s a young girl who dresses and acts in a super provocative manner and gets attention for it? That is straight up banal. It happens all the time. The reason she’s in the news is because she married an F-list celebrity, and her behavior is keeping them in the news.
I’m not condemning her for her manner of dress or pouting or posing - it’s what society asks women to do, and then they get punished when they comply, and I’m not gonna be complicit in that punishment. But the fact that you know how to get a reaction - any reaction - doesn’t mean you have anything interesting to say.
